Hi there, I’m Salome ! As I bid farewell to my enriching four-month internship at Anjali House, encapsulating the depth of my experiences in Cambodia proves a daunting task. The profound learnings and personal growth I’ve encountered during my stay surpass any initial expectations. Cambodia has held a special place in my heart for reasons unspoken, making the decision to pursue ‘Communications & Fundraising’ at Anjali House a natural and heartfelt choice.
I am so glad I became part of Anjali House’s team for a few months. This organisation is doing a great job at empowering young people and giving them the assistance they need to become the best version of themselves.
As I get ready to depart, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Anjali House for this incredible opportunity. The warmth and support I’ve received here have made it a pleasure to work with such amazing individuals. Despite having traveled to various countries and continents, Cambodia holds a unique place in my heart. My time here has shown me the remarkable resilience and pride of its people, leaving me continuously amazed. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by stress and anxiety in the moment, yet amidst it all, there’s so much to be thankful for. I’ve learned that our challenges only serve to underscore the value of the life we’ve been given.
Thoughts on Volunteering
Volunteering offers a powerful perspective shift, allowing you to recognize the impact you can make for others beyond yourself. My time in Cambodia reaffirmed that the concept of self extends to others, emphasizing that giving is a rewarding path to receiving.
