It’s a pleasure to present our Alumini Portrait to show you how the student has evolved and become a leader in their community. Especially when one of invests so much to give to our young generation advice, help, and learning. Meet Chy, who is currently a university student and continues to work with our current students as a role model and inspiration.
My name is Chy and I’m 21 years old. I’ve been studying at Anjali House since I was 7 years old. I’m from Seam Reap province and I come from the poor family. I have four members in my family, and I have one brother. In my free time, I like to listen to research and learn about new things, but mostly I like to listen to the public speakers, because it can motivate me and give knowledge about their experience.
I know Anjali House because I followed my sister every day. My sister knew Anjali because one of teachers from Anjali invited her to come and study.
I have learned so many things and also I have many great memories from Anjali. I love all the workshops that the volunteers from other countries presented. It was a great experience to know many different workshops, and that they taught shared, and educated the next young generation like me and others. I especially enjoyed when we create a program to remind the teachers and programs to give students the opportunity to demonstrate their abilities. For example, Anjali has events where students can share what they have worked on like singing, dancing or presenting their writings. Also, teachers and older students shared their lessons and experiences with younger students.
I have learned many things from Anjali. I have learned about the cultures of different countries, how to live healthily, how to create dreams and find what I want to be in the future, and how be a good person.
Anjali House has helped me so much throughout my studies from primary school until high school. They provide me with study materials and I’m very grateful for the scholarship sponsors for supporting me as I go to university.
Nowadays I study at the University of East Asia and I study general management. I can study at the university because of the scholarship that Anjali gave me.
This year is my third years of university. I am going to finish university next year. While I am studying at university, I will be volunteer as much as I can do for Anjali. I will share all my experience and what I have learned from Anjali to the next young generation.
Finally, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has helped us with our studies and thank you to Anjali for supporting me with everything. I promise I will do my best to help develop the poor people like the people helped us as much. I will live as a good person and share knowledge with children and people around me.
