Angkor Kids Marathon Against Child Labour 5th June 2010

In honour of this commitment to the children of Anjali House and also to raise awareness to help to end the worst forms of child labour more than 56 students and staff will take part in the 2nd annual children's marathon to Angkor Wat. Anjali Kids Photography prints now online

As part of this years photography festival, the children of Anjali had there first full print exhibition on the 24th of November at the Foreign Correspondents Club (FCC) in Siem Reap. As well as a display of 24 of the children's prints we also collated a catalogue of 76 images which were available to buy on the night. Anjali gift's available at our new online store

We are all very happy to announce the opening of our new online shop. You can now buy the kids photography work in the form of a series of 7 sets of postcards each containing 6 high quality postcards. The photography was taken as part of the Angkor Photography Festival and produced with the assistance of Friends of Khmer Culture (FOKCI). Child sponsorship now online

We are proud to announce the Anjali House child sponsorship program. For all those who really want to make a difference and assist our kids future development we have created a sponsorship program that can meet the needs of our children and centre and your pocket. Our Life-line sponsorship package will cover costs to feed our kids everyday and provide them with the education materials they need for their public school studies. Anjali Kids Photography goes International

 

On the 4th Feb thanks to the work of Francoise Callier, Sohrab Hura & Ajay Hirani the children of Anjali will be exhibiting their photography overseas for the first time. 32 children worked with 7 International Photographers during two weeks of workshops in November as part of the Angkor Photography Festival 2008. These pictures were selected by the festival's Director, Shahidul Alam for inclusion at the Chobi Mela International Festival of Photography at the Goethe Institute in Dhaka, Bangladesh www.chobimela.org. Anjali House football team flourishing


The Anjali House boy?s football team achieved an extra boost at the weekend after winning their first match against Siem Reap International School. Despite appalling pitch conditions the team managed to finish 4-2, with the last goal falling in Injury time. After going 3-0 up in the first half SRIS pulled the game back to 3-2 with 15 minutes left. After a drop in morale the kids put up with sustained pressure on our goal but defended valiantly to maintain their lead. Champions in the CKS Cup

In June the kids participated in the Inaugural CKS Siem Reap Cup, First up came the Under-12's. They had a tough first match against neighbours and rivals the Green Gecko Project which ended in a 1-1 draw. After this came a 5-1 trouncing of the Siem Reap International School which filled everyone with a big dose of confidence going forward. However after 2 loses; to the children from the local teacher training college and Sangkheum Centre for Children respectively, we ended up in a very respectable mid table position with the U-12's cup going to   Full story>>
